Ja Rule Prepares For Prison

Rap Daily: Rapper Ja Rule  is scheduled to serve a two-year prison sentence starting June 8 after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon at a New York court in December.

It will be recalled that authorities have they found a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun in his Maybach sports car in July 2007 after his concert with Lil Wayne, who was detained separately and already completed an 8-month prison sentence after reaching a plea deal regarding the case.

But one day before going to prison, the rapper is set to release his latest album "The Renaissance Project".

"It's resolved now," Ja Rule said. "I'm cool. We ain't beefing no more. We'll never collaborate. That's just what it is... We don't gotta go to war, but we're not friends either. But we can coincide inside of a world. He's doing him, and he's not thinking about me, and I'm doing me and I'm not thinking about him."

Rap Daily: Hip-hop super star Sean Kingston was driving a jet ski in Miami Beach early Sunday evening when the watercraft collided with the Palm Island Bridge. His condition has now been stabilized.

Rap Daily: Ja Rule's is counting down the days to his prison sentence and has kicked his promotion  for his seventh and eighth albums The Renaissance Project and Pain is Love 2 into overdrive. The former Murder Inc. star recently caught up with the LIFE Files TV to discuss his long-awaited return to rap.
During the interview, Ja weighed in on Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim's extended feud. No stranger to high profile beefs himself, Ja said that he thinks rappers are far more susceptible to feuding with each other because of the competitive nature of rap music. Ultimately, he believes that the two artists can work it out in the end.
"I think it's terrible, man," he said. "I like Nicki, I know Kim. It's fucked up that artists in Hip Hop go through that shit, because artists in pop and R&B and other genres..don't go through that shit...[Kenny Chesney vs. Garth Brooks,] you don't get that shit. You don't have to disrespect another artist's creativity...to better yourself or get ahead as an artist. I think Nicki and Kim, they can resolve that."
Speaking of beef, Ja also spoke on his failed super-group Murder Inc. with Jay-Z and former foe DMX. He said that the group ultimately never really took off because some of the members' egos.
"We tried to put the Murder Inc. group together, but it didn't pan out," he said. "I think egos got in the way of that whole situation. But you've got to understand that that's Hip Hop, too. Niggas are competitive. I think DMX and Jay-Z were so competitive real talk, we couldn't even get them in the same room because of their competitive natures and what they had been through before that with.the legendary battle that they had on the pool tables up in Uptown with the guns out."
The full interview can be seen below.

I put a couple little singles out just to let ‘em know I’m here, but now, I’m finna drop the mixtape. Man Sells Pimp My Ride Car For $18 Thousand Dollars

Rap Daily: A man Has Sold his $500 Buick for $18,000 after Xzibit and West Coast Customs pimped his ride.
Not many people can forget MTV's "Pimp My Ride" featuring Xzibit and the eccentric crew of Los Angeles' West Coast Customs. For those who don't remember, Xzibit would show up to the doorstep of a lucky fan with a beat up car, and offer to go above and beyond in fixing it.

One man who goes by the name Jake Glazes, and who was featured on the show during its run, said he got much more value out of selling his newly pimped out 1986 Buick Century than he would had he kept it. West Coast Customs had transformed his $500 vehicle into a portable deejay booth with a new sound system and turntables. However, Glazes says the car may have been spruced up on the outside, but the insides were still beat up.

"The problem with the show is, they don't fix any of the mechanical issues and my car was a piece of shit," he said. "What they did was make my piece of shit sound exceptionally awesome, which is great. Just not great enough to drive on the roads."

MTV's contract asserted that cars from the show should not be sold online. However, Glazes was able to circumvent that contract by selling the car to the company associated with the vehicle's upgrade for $18,000. And although he couldn't drive the car, he says his experience with Xzibit was a good one.

"Xzibit was very chilled out. We probably shared 3 entire bags of Fiery Hot Cheetos. He also told me many stories. The crew at West Coast Customs were great dudes also. Very kind."

A lot of times, I be thinking if Pac was alive, he’d be in politics now.”
MMG member Wale added that the younger generation might not know about his legacy unless they do their research. “It’s been 15, 16 years since he died. That means if you’re 20, you really don’t connect unless you do your history,” he said.
Rozay echoed his sentiments, stating that he was shocked by how many people don’t even know who he is. “That surprised me most with the record. We put the record out, I was surprised how many people was asking, who is Tupac? On Twitter, on the blog, who is Tupac?” he said. “There are some people that the only people that they familiar with is Wayne and newer,” said Wale. “That’s it. Not evenBlock is Hot Wayne.”
