Ja Rule Won't Go To Prison Until June
The Queens rapper pleaded guilty to attempted gun possession in December, stemming from a July 2007 arrest. Lil Wayne, who Ja Rule performed with that night at the Cash Money star's Beacon Theater show, also was arrested that night and eventually served eight months in prison for the same offense. Wayne's sentence was postponed a number of times, including once for the rapper to undergo dental work.
A judge delayed Ja Rule's sentencing Wednesday morning so the rapper could settle a federal tax issue. The murder Inc. rapper also will use the time to finish his next project.
"We want to finish the album, and there's also a tax issue," his lawyer, Stacey Richman, said. "Somebody, an accountant, had filed an incorrect form, and this is to correct what was done in the past."The case originated just over three years ago, when Ja Rule joined Lil Wayne at his first headlining gig in New York City. After the concert, both rappers' vehicles were pulled over by the New York Police Department in separate instances. Both were subsequently charged with illegal possession of a firearm; Lil Wayne also was brought up on drug charges.

Mobb Deep's Prodigy Released From Prison
Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy was released from prison (March 7th), after spending 3 1/2 years in jail for a gun possession charge. Prodigy was released from the Mid-State Correctional facility in New Jersey earlier this morning, after serving the three years in jail for getting caught with a loaded .22 handgun in October of 2006, while driving in a bulletproof SUV with producer The Alchemist.
In addition to reuniting with Mobb Deep member Havoc, Prodigy will get right to work on is his upcoming auto-biography, My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, which is due outs on April 19th.
My Infamous Life centers around Prodigy's upbringing, the rapper's career with Mobb Deep, his various altercations throughout his colorful career and his time behind bars.
As Prodigy comes out, another Queens rapper is due to go in for the same offense.
Ja Rule is expected to be sentenced to two years on Wednesday (March 9th), for a gun possession charge stemming from an incident in July of 2007, in which police found a loaded handgun in the side door panel of his Maybach.

Young Buck Pleads Not Guilty To Gun Charges
The rapper's home was raided in August 2010 by Internal Revenue Service agents for $300,000 in unpaid taxes. During the raid, officials alleged they discovered a .40-caliber pistol and ammunition belonging to Young Buck, according to local NBC affiliate WSMV. The indictment in the case had been sealed until Monday.
As a previously convicted felon (for stabbing a man at the Vibe Awards in 2004), he is not allowed to possess a gun and could face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty. The one-time G-Unit star (real name: David Brown), appeared in court before a judge in handcuffs and pleaded not-guilty. He was released on a $100,000 bond.
Young Buck has endured financial difficulties since unceremoniously parting ways with 50 Cent and Interscope Records. He filed a lawsuit in the past, claiming the parties short-changed him out of earnings. 50, however, has long maintained that he not only was fair in paying Buck, but also helped the lyricist with additional funds to pay off debts.
At the time of the raid, Buck was emphatic that he had been cheated out of funds.
"I have a new team in place, but I am also paying full attention now," he said in a statement. "Nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a huge wake-up call for all entertainers to stay on top of your own trusted employees and team members, and replace anyone that was put in place by your record label if the situation you have goes sour. This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music. From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business."

Two Men Stabbed At Lloyd Banks Concert
Two men in Buffalo, New York, were sent to the hospital with stab wounds after a fight broke out during a concert featuring G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks.
According to police, Lloyd Banks was performing at The Town Ballroom on Saturday when two men were stabbed in two separate incidents, inside the venue.
Clayton Webster, 23 and Anthony Marshall, 21, were both stabbed repeatedly inside of the venue, police confirmed.
While Marshall is in stable condition, Webster is still in critical condition at the Erie County Medical Center.
Investigators are attempting to determine if the two incidents are connected, or if one of the stabbings was a retaliatory act for the other.

Kanye West Copyright Lawsuit Thrown Out
Kanye West claimed another victory in court late last week, when a judge threw out a copyright infringement case against the rapper.Kanye was sued in June of 2010 by songwriter Vincent "Vince P." Peters, who claimed that he produced and wrote Kanye's hit single "Stronger" from the
album Graduation.
Peters claimed he gave the track to Kanye's longtime business associate John Monopoly in 2006, who played his version for Kanye.

Juvenile Arrested On Drug Traffic Charges
Juvenile has been arrested and found guilty on the same set of charges in the past.
According to published reports, the rapper was driving and pulled over. He then gave them a small bag of weed after they said they smelled the scent emanating from his vehicle.
He's due in court again on April 1
