Schoolly D Reacts To Andres Breivik Quoting His Lyrics

Rap Daily: Philadelphia rap legend Schoolly D. has responded to terrorist Anders Behring Breivik, who quoted the rapper's lyrics in his infamous “Manifesto” after committing mass murder in Oslo, Norway last week.

Breivik's "Manifesto" references a 2003 essay by scholar John H. McWhorter, titled “How Hip-Hop Holds Blacks Back.”

Although Breivik does not give credit to McWhorter in the document, the Philadelphia City Paper noted that a portion of the “Manifesto” actually references Schoolly D.'s 1985 classic “PSK (What Does It Mean).”

The song is recognized by Hip-Hop historians as being the first “Gangsta rap” record.

"People who use Schoolly’s music to justify their own actions are saying that I thought that I was telling them to be a gang banger or worse," Schoolly D. told The City Paper."That’s horrible, that they are taking MY lyrics — not really listening and not really enjoying it — and just being sick. And sick and weird as they are, they are, they not really brave."

Schoolly claimed that those quoting his lyrics or referencing them to justify heinous acts such as the Oslo shooting/bombing, which took the lives of 77 people, were simply looking to justify their own immoral behavior.

"In the song 'PSK' the last thing I say is “I put the pistol down because I got a educated mind” nobody quotes that," Schooolly D. continued. "When they hear that, the people actually listening, then they say “oh now I get it….the people who gravitate toward one part of my lyrics or song aren’t really listening."

In the "Manifesto," Breivik says that media companies should censor the negative and instructive images that hip-hop music allegedly perpetuates.

"As for the fate of the hiphop industry; banning it altogether is not the optimal solution as it would cause overwhelming short term outcry and it would eliminate positive aspects as well…certain positive aspects of the hiphop movement should be allowed to survive such as break dance and positive genres of the music as long as it positively influences the self confidence of European youths and only if it can be re-defined as a European tradition and not portrayed as a ghetto/ethnic/multiculturalist lifestyle."

In the "Manifesto," Breivik said that he learned to train himself for the massacre by playing “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.”

50 Cent: Refuses To Put Out Black Magic album

Rap Daily: 50 Cent claims to have scrapped putting out his new album, saying he "will not put out another album" due to an ongoing dispute with his label. "They dropped the ball with me one time too many," the rapper wrote on Twitter. "I apologise to all my fans."
50 has been beefing with Interscope Records for more than a month, accusing them of bungling the lead-up for what would be his fifth studio LP. Once described as a "dance album" called Black Magic, the rapper recently revealed he was moving in a different direction with a new title and "a whole different energy". "The Black Magic music, I have it, and I'll probably use it in, maybe, a film project," he told MTV News.
Whatever this new album sounds like, 50 Cent insists Interscope has been dragging its feet on its release. "Feels like they're moving in slow motion," he wrote in June, saying the LP could be delayed until 2012. "My whole career iv been doing shit and they have been playing catch up ... THEY BETTER WAKE UP AND WORK."
Although Interscope's Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine later tried to smooth things over, 50 Cent's temper flared again this week. "Man I'm not releasing a album," he tweeted. "I can't believe Interscope is this f*cked up right now ... I will work with other artists on their projects but I will not put out another album." It didn't help that one of 50 Cent's new songs, I'm On It, appeared on filesharing sites on Wednesday. "I don't know how I can record 41 songs for my album and the one song I give Interscope leaks," he said. "I hate when I can't present my music the way I feel it should be."
The rapper threatened revenge by sharing an unreleased single by one of his bosses, Dr Dre. "[It's] a big song," he wrote, "[but] I just don't think it deserves a great set up [since] they can't seem to get it right when it comes to me." The rapper eventually backtracked, saying Dre "has done nothing but help me".
50 Cent's most recent LP, 2009's Before I Self Destruct, was the lowest-selling album of his career. It reached No 22 in the UK charts

Witness Says Lil Boosie Paid Him $15G's To Kill Rapper

Rap Daily: Rapper Lil Boosie is accused of paying $15,000 to have rival rapper named Nussie murdered.

Prosecutors played a videotaped statement from Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding in court this week.

Louding confessed to detectives that Lil Boosie wanted Nussie killed, after the rapper was allegedly disrespectful to one of Lil Boosie's associates during an altercation.

According to The Advocate, Lil Boosie hired Louding and another associated named Michael “Ghost” Judson to murder Nussie, as well as another man named Terry Boyd.

Only Michael Louding is on trial for the murder of Christopher “Nussie" Jackson, because Judson is dead.

Louding's trial for murdering Nussie is just the start, as he has been charged with five other murders between 2009 and 2010.

Rapper Lil Boosie, born Torrence Hatch, is also charged with first-degree murder in one of the killings.

Prosecutors claim to have evidence that Lil Boosie hired Louding to shoot a man named Terry Boyd in October of 2009.

Lil Boosie, 28, was not charged in the death of Christopher “Nussie” Jackson, because he did not have direct contact with Michael Louding prior to Nussie's murder.

Earlier this week, Lil Boosie was accused of attempting to smuggle drugs into a second state prison in Louisiana.

The rapper was indicted for trying to smuggle codeine into Angola State Prison, as well as the Dixon Correctional Institute at Jackson, where he was previously incarcerated, while serving a 10-year sentence for possession of marijuana.

Prosecutors are still debating if they are going to seek the death penalty against Lil Boosie.
